Abstract
This book contains an historical and analytical discussion of land tenure in Buganda. The book is concerned with the freehold land tenure system which was introduced into Buganda by the British in 1900. A brief description of the traditional system is also included. Mukwaya describes in detail the rights and privileges of MAILO owners and peasant holders under the new land tenure system. How these rights would effect future economic progress is briefly discussed in the conclusions.
