AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This article describes a burial of a Shilluk reth witnessed by the author. Details are given on the ceremonies and their order, the participants and ceremonial paraphernalia. The author, an ethnologist, notes some small differences of detail from other published descriptions of burial rites which he believes are due to flexibility in the rituals themselves.
