Oxford University Press • London • Published In 1937 • Pages:

Abstract
Only those sections treating specifically the Yoruba provinces have been included. The author discusses the history and development of the various divisions of Nigeria under British colonial administration, treating various problems encountered. Among these are slavery, extension of authority, economics, taxation systems, land tenure, and relations between the Yoruba and other peoples. Various functions of the government are discussed, and although none are treated intensively, the work presents a fair over-all view of governmental problems and the attempts at solution by the British.
