Concepts of time among the Tiv of Nigeria
Southwestern journal of anthropology • Albuquerque • Published In 1953 • Pages: 251-262
By: Bohannan, Paul.
Abstract
The way Tiv indicate time over short periods and long periods, including the words for these periods, is discussed by the author within the context of the fact that time is indicated but not measured in this culture. The relation to time concepts to the basic agricultural cycle, and to Tiv market patterns is indicated. The problem of establishing exact geneologies is also discussed.
