AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This monograph is a succinct description of the Tiv kinship structure, household organization and agricultural economy. Since the problems of land tenure impinge upon various aspects of Tiv social relationships, the author has commented extensively upon their concept of land rights and solution of land disputes. The effect of British administration and the consequent development of cash crops for foreign markets also receives adequate attention in this source. The author was a lecturer in social anthropology at Oxford and taught in the Department of Sociology at Princeton University.
