Abstract
The section selected for translation is Book IV: The Family. It contains information on groupings larger than the single household, women and the household, children and education, appendages of the family (e.g., slaves and serfs), family property, and the laws of inheritance. Some data on marriage practices are also included. Information on clientage, the attaching of one's self to a richer household, has been indexed for 'SERFDOM AND PEONAGE' (566). Tauxier was a colonial administrator with a long association with the Mossi.
