Abstract
This study investigates food procurement patterns in a rural Maliam Community in West Africa. It shows that households in this village combine subsistence grain production with a variety of income generating activities including cattle herding, market gardening, wood selling, and remittance. Income from these activities is used for purchasing food and other necessities.
