Abstract
This is a description of mountain Saami culture based on a husband-wife team expedition to Swedish Lapland in 1934. The book includes a detailed description of Jokkmokk Saami nomadic life and the life of the Karesuando Saami in their summer camp with special reference to children's socializaiton process and the education system. The new trend in the 1930s toward settled life in a village is also discussed.
