AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This is a thorough study of the everyday life of Serbian peasants. The author begins the study with a discussion of the traditional and written history of the area, followed by a description of the village and its houses. The extended family or ZADRUGA is then considered, accompanied by a listing of the composition of some of these ZADRUGA groups. Other sections cover religion, material culture and handicrafts, dress and life cycle. Portions of the study are devoted to the differences between the Moslem minority and the other groups in Serbia and Macedonia.
