Abstract
Major Godwin-Austen, Deputy Superintendent Topographical Survey of India, discusses several earlier descriptios of Khasi monuments and funerary customs. He describes the monuments and their distribution in the areas peripherial to the Khasi groups. A discussion by various members of the Institute appears at the end of his paper.
