This is a detailed ethnographic description of the Garo, dating from the first decade of the twentieth century. This volume is divided into seven sections (a general introduction, domestic life, laws and customs, religion, folklore, miscellaneous, and language) and six appendices, mostly vocabularies. A large number of myths are recorded in native text together with translation.
