AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This brief but detailed article was written jointly by an ethnologist and a native of Burma. In the first portion of the paper, a list of kinship terms is given, and two charts presented. A description of family life follows, along with a statement of relations with relatives beyond the household. Then the writers go on to a description of the life cycle, embodying pregnancy, birth, childhood activities, marriage, old age, and death and funeral customs.
