Abstract
This paper describes in detail the traps, nets and snares used in fishing, hunting and trapping and the purposes and circumstances under which each type is used. The role of the shaman (pawang) in all of these activities is discussed. Footnotes throughout the text give the Malay terms for these articles. The appendix includes the Malay text of charms used by elephant drivers.
