AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This monograph provides information on the position of women in Vietnamese society with particular emphasis on their legal, political and social status. The work is based on a number of doctoral theses presented at the University of Paris by Vietnamese authors, on publications and radio broadcast disseminated since 1948 by the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, and on Coughlin's personal experiences gained from two years' residence in Saigon from 1946-1948.
