AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This is an account of travels through Cambodia and parts of Laos in 1939. Only information pertinent to Cambodia is included in this document. Brodrick gives impressions of the people and the countryside, descriptions of ceremonies, comments on French colonial policy, and a summary of Cambodian history. His main interest is in describing Khmer monuments and their archaeological significance, and tracing the derivations of Buddhist symbols and religious traditions. The facts and theories presented are largely derived from other works.
