AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This dissertation is an ethnographic description of a Korean peasant village during the period 1920-1935. All inhabitants of this village belong to the same clan. By describing in detail family, household, and clan, the author stresses the importance of social position over that of the individual and his interests. The specific village description is preceded by a short survey of Korean history.
