AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This collection of Garo folk tales consists of orally transmitted fables, mythology, traditional accounts, and other forms of oral literature. Rongmuthu, a Garo and not a trained anthropologist, recorded them as told by the informants. The tales reflect a considerable amount of data in the sphere of religious beliefs and ideas about nature and man. The author's footnotes contain valuable information.
