Journal de la Société des américanistes de Paris, n.s.19 • Published In 1927 • Pages: 35-42a [incomplete]

By: Métraux, Alfred, Coughlin, Margaret.

Abstract
This document consists of a detailed analysis of the migratory movements of the various Tupí-Guaraní tribes from the time of their first contacts with Europeans in the sixteenth century to the early twentieth century. As such, it deals with the mirations of the various Tupinamba sub-tribes. The historical reconstruction is based on no fieldwork on the part of the author. The sections translated and reproduced for the files include a general statement on the conclusions drawn, a summary chart listing the author's conclusions as to the migrations of the Tupí-Guaraní tribes, and a map, keyed to the chart, illustrating the routes of migration. For the detailed account of the migrations the original source should be consulted.
