Abstract
This hyperdiffusionist inquiry into Chiriguano and Chané material culture—based on the author’s field collections and study museum collections and published works—finds comparable objects and related practices throughout South America and beyond. The most convincing evidence for adoption of traits, however, is from intimate contact with Inca and Hispanic intruders. Looking beyond its methodology, this work serves as a good catalog of Chiriguano and Chané material culture, with useful distinctions drawn between the two groups.
