By: Tschopik, Harry.
Abstract
This is an important ethnographic description of the Aymara. Tschopik used his own field data and secondary data to produce a concise description of the Aymara. The subjects discussed include archaeology, history, religion, social organization, economic life, and life cycle of the Aymara. Insofar as possible, comparisons are made between practices of ca. 1940 and those of pre-conquest times.
