Abstract
This study discusses Amahuaca hunting technology and practices, and associated magic. The bow and arrow is the principal weapon used for hunting and fishing. Tapirs and spider monkeys are prized game. Blood of the hunted animal is applied to the bow, arrow, and body to ensure success. An infusion of plant material can also be applied to parts of the hunter's body. A more extreme practice is an application of toxins to burns on the body, inducing a violent reaction.
