Abstract
This is a monograph on the family cycle of the Dolgani, who are a Yakut-speaking people living northwest of Yakutskaya in the neighboring Taymyr OKRUG. The Dolgani are reindeer herders, a way of life heavily influenced by the Evenk. The monograph describes the sequence of cultural events and behavior from marriage through pregnancy, childbirth, naming, infant and child care, and chidlren's play and toys. Also included is a discussion of Dolgani kinship terminology.
