Abstract
This article consists mainly of the text of a chief's proclamation lifting the taboo on a sacred spring. The proclamation summarizes the legendary origin of the sacredness of this spring and gives the reason for the lifting of the taboo. The opening paragraphs identify the chief in terms of his own genealogy.
