Sarawak Museum journal • 9 (13-14) • Published In 1959 • Pages: 203-214
By: Bedford, P. W..
Abstract
Bedford was a senior medical officer of the Kuching General Hospital in Sarawak. The article covers the health and nutrition of one longhouse group of Sea Dayak, Rumah Bujak, by means of their diet. There are several tables illustrating various diets (good, poor, etc.) and listing all the foods eaten at each meal over a period of time. This group's nutritional intake is compared to an average normal British diet and those foods that are heavier in consumption than others are also discussed.
