By: Collins, Thomas William.
Abstract
This document deals with economic development among the Northern Utes. In particular, the author is concerned with the effects of economic development on such things as family structure, work performance, political participation, and ethnic identity. Collins describes the economic situation among the Northern Ute and the life style accompanying it. Collins concludes that 'greater economic opportunities and increases in income will not necessarily hasten the end of a particular life style. Indeed, they may only strengthen it' .
