Abstract
In an effort to discover the degree of participation of Navajo women in ceremonial knowledge and song ceremonies, the author questioned sixty women in the Ramah area. This article summarizes the conclusions he reached, which indicate that except in cases where the women were related to the singers, their knowledge and participation was considerably less than that of the average man. The author was director of the Ramah Project, from which ths article stems. (For details on the Project, see the abstract for 5: Leighton and Leighton)
