Abstract
In this paper the author discusses shamanism as found among the Paviotso at the time of contact and at the ethnographic present (1933). The main topics discussed are the acquisition of spirit power, shamanistic curing, magical powers of shamans such as weather control and the accusations of sorcery directed against shamans.
