By: Burnet, David Gouverneur, Wallace, Ernest.
AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This source contains letters written by a traveller who was in contact with the Comanche of Texas in 1818-1819. The letters cover a variety of topics including band locations, religion, polygamy, warfare, general observations on standard of living, and a brief word list. The coverage of any one topic is sketchy at best, but the source is of interest because it contains an eyewitness account dating to the early 19th century.
