Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine briefly the social impact in Florida of thirty-one years of Cuban immigration to the state (1959-1990). In these pages Clark provides information on the socio-historic background of the Cuban emigration, the demographic impact of their arrival on the Miami metropolitan region, and other areas of social influence such as in housing and urban renewal, language and bilingualism, medicine, the food and entertainment industries, community leadership, etc.
