Abstract
This paper is based on a random sample survey of recently arrived Haitians (1983-1984) using participant observation and intensive interviewing techniques. The data collected describe the individual background experiences of the migrants, their arrival and resettlement experiences, their education, knowledge of English and information about the United States, current employment status and occupation, income, public assistance, predictors of employment, occupation, and income, and their beliefs and orientations (p. 329).
