Abstract
This brief article, written by a noted professional anthropologist, describes in detail the various kinds of mammals to be found in the Labrador interior. Some information is given on the hunting techniques employed by the Naskapi (Montagnais) in obtaining these animals for food, but there is little or no mention made in the source of other cultural uses made of animals by the Indians, although there are some notes on the place of animals in mythology and on the present day native beliefs about their habits.
