Abstract
This brief article is a summary of Nootka religion, based mainly on material in Sapir's field notes, with some additions from the work of Boas. In the course of the article, he discusses supernatural beings, prayer, acquisition of power and secret rituals, shamanism, soul beliefs and supernatural phenomena, and rituals. Sapir was a well-known linguist and ethnologist.
