Volume III of the standard source on the Aleut. The author was a Russian priest assigned to the Unalaska District of the Aleutian Islands; volume II of his report is a comprehensive account of the Unalaskan Aleuts and has been included as the primary source in the Aleut File (See 1: Veniaminov). The material for the volume on the Athin Aleuts was given to him by the priest of the Atka District; it deals primarily with the religion of the Athin Aleuts although other material is included. The second half of this volume deals with the Koloshi.
