Abstract
In this article Yu deals with the characteristics of Korean community organization as they relate to the status and role of women in the society. The essay also examines women's organizations and roles in overall community processes and attempts to reveal the level and nature of community involvement of Korean American women and the factors related to such involvement. The data for this study are derived mainly from interviews with selected female and male leaders in the Korean community of southern California. Additional information was obtained from documents and statistics published by various community organizations, including church bulletins (p. 276).
