Abstract
This article describes the origin, development, activities, and significance of various Serbian organizations in the United States. Particular attention in this work is paid to the study of the Serbian mutual aid societies, but additional information is also to be found on fraternal federations, patriotic organizations (e.g., the Serbian National Defense society), singing societies, church oriented groups, athletic clubs (e.g., the SOKOL organizations), and veterans, political, and various cultural organiztions.
