Hmong migration and leadership in Laos and in the United States

Abstract
This paper compares and contrasts Hmong secondary migrations in the United States with similar migrational patterns in traditional Laotian Hmong society. The author believes that these patterns of movement are almost identical in both places. Also stressed in this source is the fact that the function of moving helps to consolidate clan power and increase the 'working power' of both village and clan leaders.
