In this article Suret-Canale, a professor at the Lycee of Dakar, analyzes the agricultural situation in Louga. he finds that the dry climate, poor soil, and low level of agricultural technique have resulted in poor yield, a barely subsistence standard of living, and the gradual depopulation of the region under study. certain remedial measures are suggested by the author.
