Anthropological Quarterly • 64 (1) • Published In 1991 • Pages: 30-46
By: Rasmussen, Susan J..
Abstract
This article analyzes the role of gossip, song and divination in the articulation of grievances in settings of conflict among the Kel Ewey Tuareg of northeastern Niger. It proposes a frame that looks at different conflict resolution mechanisms not as mutually exclusive and conflictual but as having transformative aspects.
