Abstract
This is a treatise on disease and medicine in Ancient Israel. While there are many references to headaches and stomachaches in the Bible there is, in general a paucity of medical information. The author had to rely on other sources from the Near East and Mediterranean region, listing specific ailments associated with the eyes, ears, nose, throat, teeth, "heart", liver, kidneys, bones, and skin (leprosy), along with description of some medical practices and the status and role of physicians.
