Abstract
This article, written in the form of the author's answers to questions that were posed, recounts some of the peasant lore in Palestine such as sacred trees and animals, ghosts and spirits, their distinguishing characteristics and powers, their preferred places of dwelling, the rituals in their honor, the native theories of luck, the evil eye, enchantment, and small references to the stories that have become associated with historical figures. The names of ghosts and spirits, sacred trees and animals, etc., are rendered in Arabic with their English transliteration.
