Abstract
This source presents the transcription and translation of a statement made by Princess Constance Magogo kaDinizulu, of the Zulu royal family, on Zulu music. Songs included are children's songs, songs of girl's puberty ceremonies, courting songs, marriage songs, hunting songs, and songs for a king's funeral. There are two appendices containing musical transcriptions and a discussion of tonality.
