Abstract
This German language volume provides a general overview of Hadza culture and economy, based on available literature. Important themes discussed include: spatial and temporal variations in the availability of edible plants and wild game; compositions of hunting and gathering bands and family groups; age- and gender-based divisions of labor; and interactions with neighboring ethnic groups and government agents. It also provides perspective on why a majority of the Hadza continue to live by hunting and gathering, rather than settling permanently in villages established for them by government officials and European missionaries.
