Abstract
This article was written by a former District Officer of the Maasai in Kenya. Its aim was mainly to elaborate on and/or correct parts of previously published accounts on the Maasai. While doing this, Mr. Fox manages to discuss briefly various aspects of Maasai culture: food taboos, lists of clans and districts, age grades and their formation, and residence rules as they affect inheritance.
