Shaw obtained his information on Luo marriage customs as they existed in Central Kavirondo from tribal elders. It is a detailed description touching upon marriage regulations, bride price, betrothal and wedding ceremonies. In spite of the 'To be continued' note at the end of this article, there is no record of the final portion ever being published.
