Abstract
This article is an analysis of the expression (and repression) of emotion as they reflect specific personality types occurring in the Icelandic sagas. The author notes that issues of violence and emotion are closely intermeshed in the sagas which he illlustrates with a number of excerpts from such sagas as Brennu-Njáls, Laxdoela, Víga-Glúms, etc.
