Abstract
This article is a study of the socio-economic factors affecting social change (modernization) in the peasant community of Planinica in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the influence of the wealthy householders in initiating these changes. The document includes data on employment, comparative household budgets between the wealthier and poorer members of the community, and introduced changes in agriculture and animal husbandry.
