Abstract
In this work Lockwood analyzes the relationship between social organization and alternative forms of marriage among rural Muslims of western Bosnia. The author presents the argument that elopment by being equated with actual bride theft, provides the most flexible and manipulative method of forming intra-household alliances (p. 253).
