Abstract
Stegmiller, former Apostolic Missionary of Assam including the part that later became Meghalaya State, characterizes the religion of the Khasi and describes the various types and occasions for scarifices. He records a description of the initiation rites of the LYNGDOH, or officiating priest. Egg-throwing, a popular method of divination in all types of sacrifices is described in this article.
