Abstract
The author, who is a native of Vietnam and assistant at l'école Française d'Extreme-Orient, has given a detailed description of the dinh as well as an account of the ceremonies which are carried on there. In this connection he discusses the place of the dinh and its ceremonies in the religious system of the Tonkinese villages. The article also contains seven plates and a description of the the religious personnel.
