AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This source is a cultural-historical study of the people of AMDO Province (Tsinghai) in northeastern Tibet by a Roman Catholic missionary. The book begins with a description of the A MDO land and people. From there it continues into the domestic economy of the nomads, touching on matters such as diet, housing, clothing, weapons, and handicrafts. By far the greatest emphasis in the work is upon animal husbandry, concerning which the author is quite exhaustive, not only in the ethnographic descriptions, but in historical reconstructions of various kinds of animal breeding. These reconstructions are based on linguistic, archaeological and historical evidence according to the KULTURKREISLEHRE.
